I can't be this guy and I know it. He's too fast. Too strong. I never even wanted to be here. Dad said it would be good for me, and in those days, what dad said went. I was too caught up in it now. I'd been training since I was 10 and I was a prizefighter now. I can't let dad down, I thought. I have to go out there and give it my best shot. But I knew I would get pummeled. The man I was to fight didn't say a word as I we were warming up, and for some reason this intimidated me more than anything else. If he had talked to me, at least I would've known he was human. I said I needed to go to the bathroom, and I ran. I ran straight out of the building and into the street. Where I would go in my boxing shorts and gloves, I hadn't decided. I'm sorry dad, I'm not getting in the ring today.
